Sharing is caring!

See Springfield offers a personalized and authentic experience through the sharing of personal stories and experiences from the authors who are locals of Springfield. We provide real-life reviews about various attractions and give readers an insider’s perspective that other travel guides may not offer.

Additionally, See Springfield encourages interaction with its audience by inviting them to share their own stories and favorite locations in the city.

Unlike other travel websites or apps that may give generic information about a place, See Springfield focuses solely on Springfield, IL. And while others may focus mainly on tourist attractions, See Springfield also highlights local businesses and events which gives visitors an opportunity to explore the city like a local rather than just a tourist.

We believe in catering not only to tourists but also locals looking for new adventures in their own city. We strive to appeal to all sorts of different types of travelers – family fun seekers, history lovers, and adventure seekers – by providing thorough recommendations and honest reviews.

how it all started

We were ready to see Springfield…

Despite one of us having been born here and the other having called it home for over a decade, neither had truly seen Springfield. Sure we’d go to the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays or hit up the Earth Day Fair every April, but Lincoln’s Tomb? The Dana Thomas House? Jubilee Farm? We’d never been!

And as our children grew – currently in 1st and 2nd grade – we realized just how much they (and we!) were missing out on.

Okay and to be totally honest…the lockdown of 2020 was also a big eye-opener. There was so much to do that we’d never taken advantage of!

So in June 2021 we set out to truly See Springfield. From the famous Lincoln sites to Route 66 adventures and even getting to know lesser-known playgrounds, we’ve made it a mission to shine a light on all the incredible things Springfield, IL has to offer.

We’re so excited to have you here and we know you’ll love what you see.
